We’re having a Stars of the Sea Party with a special guest, Dr. Robert H. Richmond, Marine Biologist, live from Hawaii via Skype.

Dr. Richmond is a Research Professor and Director of the Kewalo Marine Laboratory of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

  • Find out about his career in Marine Biology at the University of Hawaii
  • Discover how the Harbor sparked his interest in science and his career choice
  • You, too, can be a Marine Biologist — join our Skype visit and chat with Prof. Richmond
  • Dr. Richmond served as an official adviser to the Obama administration on the effects of oil pollution on coral reef and aquatic life

Enjoy sea themed snacks and beverages after the Skype session.

This program is open to all ages, parents and caregivers and the community-at-large is invited to attend. This program is a part of the Stars of the Sea Grant, a series of workshops focused on the study of the Harbor for children in grades 3 – 6.

Registration is preferred; please call (914) 630 – 5894 to register.

This program is made possible in part with the funds from Westchester Library System’s Mini-Grant Initiative supported by Entergy and Con Edison. This program is a collaboration between the Friends of the Mamaroneck Public Library and the Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park.
