Overdue fines have prevented some children from borrowing books & signing onto internet computers Because we believe that children should be encouraged to read, we are offering a program that will allow a child to read away their library fines.

Every 1/2 Hour they sit & read at the library, earns them 1 library buck!

Read anything you like, or read out loud to a younger child- just read. Read for a full hour, we will reduce your fine by $2. Come another day and read for an hour, we will reduce your fines another $2. It is that simple.

Here are the rules:

  • This offer is only available to library customers in

GRADES K-12

  • Minimum amount of time to read is half hour. Library Bucks are issued in half hour increments.

  • You may reduce fines on your own library card only.
  • (You cannot reduce fines for a family member or friend.)
  • Library Bucks reduce fines that you already owe.

  • You may not get credit against future fines, receive change or trade the Library Bucks for cash.

PLEASE NOTE: Library Bucks are used toward overdue fees only; they are NOT for use on lost Library items.
Library bucks are only valid in the Childrens Room.
