Build a Better World Special Tuesday Programs

Registration begins two (2) weeks before each event. Register in-person at the Children’s Room or by phone @ (914) 630 – 5894.
Programs are limited to 25 participants. Programs are for K – 5 grades. All programs will be held in the Program Room.

Grow A Better World: Tuesday,  July 11 @ 4pm.
Decorate pots, learn to plant flowers, create a community garden…and meet author Anne Mottola! Registration begin June 27.

Build A Better World Through Art:  Tuesday, July 18 @ 4pm. Create your own masterpiece on canvas at our paint party. Wear old, disposable clothing! Registration begins July 5.

Build A Better World Through Friendship: Tuesday, July 25 @ 4pm. Meet new friends, play games, dance and have a healthy snack. Registration begins July 11. 

Sculpt A Better World: Tuesday, August 1 @ 4pm. Make and take home a sculpture that you create! We will also work collaboratively to create a GIANT sculpture for view in the Children’s Room after the program. Registration begins July 18. 

Weird Contest Day: Tuesday, August 8 @ 4pm. Celebrate Weird Contest Day at the Library with Iron Chef Super Snack Style! Tap into your inner chef to create your best super snack. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration begins July 25.

Battle of the Books
is a book-based trivia tournament for Westchester County youth. Mamaroneck Library will be hosting a 4 – 6 grade team, which will compete by answering trivia questions based on  5 books (One Crazy Summer, Fuzzy Mud, Out of my Mind, The Witches, Ms. Bixby’s Last Day). The Team will meet for scheduled practices before the Battle in October to prepare for the big day!

Build A Better World Summer Reading Program
Grades: K – 5

Stop by the Children’s Room to register for the Summer Reading Program and receive your Reading Log. Read and earn prizes throughout July and August. Registration begins (in-person only) June 12.

Summer Reading Kickoff Program

Monday, June 26 @ 2pm for grades K – 5 in the Community Room.
Join us for a magic show with magician Tome Pesce! Registration begins June 12.

Summer Reading Wrap Up Program: 

Saturday, August 12 @ 2pm. All Summer Reading Program participants who have completed their five hours of summer reading are invited to the Ice Cream Social. Readers who completed the Category Challenge will receive a special prize. 


Tween Time:

Mondays from July 10 – August 7 @ 4pm in the Children’s Room for grades 3 – 6. No registration required. Tweens will be given an opportunity to take part in an Engineering Building Challenge.

Collage Crafters: 

Fridays@ 3:30pm in the Children’s Room for ages 5 – 10. No registration required. Create collages from different recycled materials each session. July 7 and August 11.
