ABOUT STORYTIMES AT MAMARONECK LIBRARY

A toddlers/preschoolers attention span is a fragile thing, but it is our hope that your children will find our storyhours an enriching experience and that you will see a marked improvement in their listening skills over the course of the program. You can help us achieve these goals by:

  • waiting until the program is over to have conversations with other parents
  • holding your child on your lap or removing them temporarily if their behavior is distracting others (this can be a most effective way of communicating to a child what behavior is appropriate during the program)
  • ensuring that younger siblings do not prevent us from providing an age appropriate program for their older brothers and sisters

As our storyhours are the result of considerable planning and preparation, PLEASE:

  • Be courteous-call (698-1250, ext.24) if you will not be attending a program for which you have registered. If you miss 2 classes without calling, your space will be filled from the waitlist.
  • Be prompt-Latecomers may distract a program-in-progress. Enter quietly if a program has already begun.
  • Be understanding-A program planned for 20 will usually not accommodate a larger number.

AT THE MAMARONECK LIBRARY

Please remember to choose one storytime per week for each child and to respect
age guidelines to ensure that all children will be able to have an enjoyable
storytime experience.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS (En Espanol)
Baby Time: This program usually lasts for 20-30 minutes, and includes nursery rhymes and songs. Caregivers are required to attend and participate.
2's Company & Stories 'N' More: These programs usually lasts for 35-45 minutes and includes stories, songs, and a craft.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Although all Library story-hour programs are free, registration is REQUIRED for each program.
