Just for Teens

Middle & High School students have their own place in the new library. The Teen Room will be open to Kids in Grades 6-12 only. Others are welcome to come in, browse and borrow materials, but the space is limited to teens who wish to hang-out, study, relax, read, work on the computers and of course, socialize.

This new space and collection is designed with teen-agers in mind. Some of the new items available consist of a video game console, television, DVD/music player, and computer access as well as laptop and wireless accessibility. The space has lounge furniture, quiet corners for studying and cozy spots for reading. Some of the NEW additions to the Teen collection are YA (Young Adult) movie selections, Graphic Books, Anime & Manga, Magazines and Popular Reads.

We will also be re-establishing the Teen Advisory Board & Volunteer program. Upcoming Workshops will include; You Can Do a Graphic Novel, Spilling Ink: A Writer's Block and Make a Mini Stop Motion.

The Teen Programming will continue with movie, trivia game & craft bash nights as well as some new additions as the Gaming Olympics both plugged and unplugged.

Other possible events include Open-Mic Performances, Pop Culture, Top Ten Teen Reads & the Artist’s Corner, just to name a few.

As you can see we will have a lot of great new programs and opportunities for our teens in the New Mamaroneck Library. So Stay Tuned for Totally Teens!
