The class will be led by certified QiGong teacher, Steve Goldstein. Qigong (pronounced CHEE-gung) is an ancient Chinese form of gentle exercise composed of movements that are repeated a number of times and can be performed by just about anyone. The movements are very much like light stretching and light calisthenics. Qigong combines movement, breathing and meditation to improve health, fitness and well-being by moving universal energy through the body.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. Class duration is 45 minutes. Open to ages 18 & up.

Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is a 30-minute session designed for those unable to get to the floor or simply do not have a yoga mat. The class will explore modified Yoga poses sitting & standing. Moving our bodies is the best way to remain healthy and calm.

The Mamaroneck Public Library, the Mamaroneck and Larchmont Historical Societies and REALM (Recognizing Enslaved Africans of Larchmont-Mamaroneck) invite you to join us on Zoom for two one-hour programs on Slavery in Mamaroneck Township.
Session #1 – Wednesday, February 10, 7:00-8:00 pm
We will review the history of slavery in New York and delve into records showing the extent of slavery in Mamaroneck Township, the land which now encompasses the villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck and the unincorporated area of Mamaroneck Town.
Session #2 – Wednesday, February 17, 7:00-8:00pm
We will focus on the enslaved people of Mamaroneck and what the records reveal about them.
The Presenters: John Jay College Professor Ned Benton, Co-Director of the New York Slavery Records Index; and John Pritts, Mamaroneck Village historian and Co-President of the Mamaroneck Historical Society. Ned and John are members of REALM, a group working to recognize the contributions of enslaved Africans in the development of Mamaroneck Township.
