MPL is an anchor and oasis for the Mamaroneck community; not only do we provide the community with the books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, music cds, and audiobooks a library is expected to have, we also offer public access computers, printing, copying, free scanning, free notary public service, and hundreds of free programs every year. We are a cooling center for the community during heat waves, and a warming center during bitter winters; in emergencies, we charge your electronic devices. As the COVID pandemic ravaged America, we offered hundreds of Zoom programs to educate and entertain.
We provide multiple wellness programs (yoga, meditation, adult coloring) for personal growth and de-stressing. Don’t have a computer at home? – we loan Chromebooks and hot spots. Our Girls Who Code classes for tweens and teens offer a plethora of opportunities for young women to extend themselves and heighten their horizons in learning computer coding. Every month we screen a new movie in our Community Room.
During the post-Ida flood crisis, we are the local home for FEMA and Disaster Recovery Center. Every Friday we offer free books; the proceeds from our September Book Sale went to assist Mamaroneck Flood Relief.
On this #GivingTuesdayMPL we respectfully request that you donate to the Library, to open your hearts and wallets, and contribute to help us continue our efforts to brighten your world.
