A Library of Things is a collection of non-traditional items that patrons can borrow for use at home. By offering these materials, the library expands access to useful resources, encourages sharing within the community, and supports environmentally sustainable practices by promoting reuse instead of individual ownership.
Items are selected based on factors such as community interest, anticipated demand, cost, availability, durability, and the library’s storage capacity. The collection may include, but is not limited to,
- arts and crafts supplies,
- board games and toys,
- sporting equipment,
- home improvement tools,
- musical instruments,
- science and technology kits, and other practical or educational items.
A signed Lending Agreement is required by all patrons to checkout any item. A copy of this agreement can be found here.
